Fort Myers Art Walk

On the First Friday of each month, First Street is closed to car traffic, and artists, galleries, and local shops celebrate art. It is a night for new opening exhibits, meeting artists, and seeing live art demos! Downtown Fort Myers is the place to be to eat, shop, or just enjoy an energetic atmosphere. The tradition of holding Art Walk on the first Friday of every month debuted in October 2008. Mayor Randall P. Henderson, Jr. proclaims October 1, 2010, as Fort Myers Art Walk Day!

Fort Myers Art Walk is an opportunity to reconnect with emotion. Patrons and craftsmen gather, often conversation pieces themselves, to trade experiences and some rare pieces. You might be able to catch exhibition events, performances, and even live music at a festival. These events are a great way to meet new artists and create new connections with people who have similar interests. They host awesome experiences that have a visual/physical emotion that can connect with you in a way you never thought something would.

Reasons to Go

A lot of people enjoy visual and musical masterpieces, but don’t know if an art festival is the right place for them. It’s a welcoming array of people who have been through all walks of life. There’s so much beauty to embrace, and maybe even to keep with you. An art festival brings people who are so different together to show them that they are much more similar than they seem. There are even online art fairs if you want to get your feet wet with something a little more casual.

The entire event is a chance to learn more about collecting and to learn from experienced collectors who have long been in the game. The experience of the staff and hosts is apparent. They bring their exhibitions to one localized place with knowledgeable staff who are ready to answer all of your questions. It’s a great time to learn about your new passion with people who fell in love with it years ago.
